We have been instructed by Berkeley Homes to prepare an Affordable Housing Strategy for the next phase of their Thames Gateway regeneration project at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich. Providing 3,000 dwellings and a host of other commercial uses, this major scheme is set to bring major regeneration benefits to Woolwich town centre. Our role has been to investigate affordable housing matters and to devise a strategy which will ensure the affordable housing complement of the scheme can secure a mixed and sustainable community in the longer term. By taking a detailed look at the housing make up of the surrounding area, the results of research can be used to ensure the tenure mix in the new development is responsive to the requirement to develop a balanced community.
