Live-Work Conversions Approved in Brent

Tetlow King Planning (TKP) has secured planning permission for the conversion of four live-work units to four family dwellings in the London Borough of Brent despite concerns over the loss of employment space.

TKP provided robust evidence there was limited demand for the live-work units; but conversely a pressing need for family accommodation across the Borough.  It was successfully argued  that the loss of the live-work units would not have a detrimental impact on the Borough’s employment provision whereas the dwellings would make a valuable contribution to the total supply of family accommodation and  in an especially sustainable location.

Ultimately the Council agreed and granted consent in October 2013.
