Tetlow King Planning (TKP) has achieved planning permission on behalf of a private developer for a change of use from offices to provide nine residential flats for a property in Kingston upon Thames.
A planning application for the site had previously been withdrawn as the Council had deemed that there was insufficient evidence to justify either the loss of employment or the provision of no on-site affordable housing. TKP were instructed to submit a revised application including a supporting statement and to provide expert advice on both of the aspects in dispute.
The Council initially sought provision of three affordable units on site. However, TKP were able to negotiate a financial contribution in lieu of any on-site provision.
Planning permission was ultimately granted by the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames through delegated powers.
